Papua New Guinea expects a spike of covid-19 cases this month – but no new cases have been detected in the country beyond the eight previously reported.

State of Emergency Controller David Manning said an anticipated 947 test results were pending from laboratories in Brisbane, Australia.

About security operations, the Controller said the police, defence force and correctional services were continuing to support the health authorities response over the coronavirus pandemic in trying to stop the spread.
