Khairiah Rahman is a senior lecturer in the School of Communication Studies at Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. She is the media education secretary and the New Zealand representative for the Asian Congress for Media and Communication. Khairiah has written articles and book chapters and presented on transnational identities, the impact of media on culture, crisis miscommunication, intercultural trust relationships, cultural representations and stereotypes and the Islamic perspective of dialogue and persuasion. Khairiah's research interests include intercultural theories, media studies and public relations.
