Oceania Interrupted challenged media educators and journalists from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region to raise the profile of West Papua as a human rights issue.
Leilani Salesa said the media was powerful at creating awareness of issues and it was critical that they reviewed their teaching and practice methods to give Papuan people a chance of self-determination of their future.
