Herman Wainggai: 14 years on, nothing has changed for West Papua

In 2002, West Papuan leaders and I traveled to Fiji to urge leaders of the PIF to support West Papua.

I also spoke to various organisations and warned the Pacific Islands Forum that not supporting West Papua is a green-light to the Indonesian government to continue its violation of West Papuans human rights.

Fourteen years later, nothing has changed.
