Excellent review.
The only thing I'd add is to this bit:

"Swedish police kept changing their minds about where and whether to formally interview Assange because they knew the evidence was weak."

Evidence was not only weak, it was fabricated. Changes were made by Swedish police to the statements from the two women, without their permission. More damningly, testing showed that a used condom police presented as evidence did not bear any trace of Assange DNA, and had not been "ripped" as an amended statement claimed.

The two women had originally gone to police, not with complaints of rape, but with a request for assistance to find Assange to take an HIV/AIDS test after they found out they had both, consensually, slept with him on separate occasions. Assange did not know that because he had gone undercover again to avoid USA snatch squads.

If all that sounds extremely unlikely for a socialist paradise such as Sweden, then readers might consider updating their political reality to the fact that Sweden may be socially liberal but has also just moved to abandon 200 years of neutrality in favour of joining the US-dominated security alliance, NATO.
