Hardly anybody in Taiwan even wants to be part of the Republic of China, a democratic constitution under which the country is ruled.

Taiwanese don’t want to be ruled by Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, or anybody else.

Taiwanese people just want to be left alone as Taiwan: an independent, democratic, Pacific Island.

I hope Fiji and other Pacific Islands can help Taiwan in this respect.

btw: I don’t think the Chinese diplomatist did it right, no violence should be tolerated, especially happened in diplomatic activities.

Actually, like about all people of any nationality or origin, the Chinese I know are perfectly nice people; so it is not typical
to Chinese, but rather to a particular group among them. Those who live in China have to suffer from similar behaviour by the same group, so have some sympathy for them.
The diplomats perpetrating this of course were under enormous pressure by their superiors in the Foreign Ministry
to ‘do something’ to disrupt anything representing the democratic entity on Taiwan in a good light.
Can we have hope the Fiji government shows some backbone opposing such behaviour?
